Route guides Largs downhill

How to get there::Largs. Situated on the West coast, just south of Greenock. Head for Douglas Park on the south side of the town.

This downhill trail is home to the University of Paisley Downhill Team. The team was formed as the guys spent their free time on the hill honing their skills and developing the trail. The team started as a bunch of drunken bums(students) and has developed into a proper sponsored team that competes in every round of the SDA. Please show your support by visiting their website.

Entrances to the beginning of the trail are at the car park on the Hiely Brae road. you can also use the walkers path to find the trail which starts up past the tennis courts that are just beside the BP petrol station. To find the main start point you just go to the sun dial and begin on the most obvious trail down. This then flows towards the far side down a steep section with a left turn and leads towards a small drop and the fun part of the course. Going trough a small
switchback you hit a small gap jump at a road crossing and onto similar jumps and drops. The main fun area of the track is situated just off the main walkers trail and is easy to find from the road crossing half way up. It is generally in good condition and suitable for all riders of most abilities- obvioiusly not small kids and beginners though. it lasts about 2 minutes long downhill but the best time spent is playing on the jumps.
