Route guides Mugdock
How to get there:: From Milngavie follow A81 and park at any of the multitude of car parks dotted around the area. Multimap
Mugdock Country Park is more an adventures trek than a lung bursting night out , seeing lots of wildlife from squirrels to deer
The circuit is about 8 miles in length about an hour long
This is a great wee evening or weekend jaunt with some nice climbs and great descents and nice views lovely country park with different terrain to suit all. Some of the trails have bridges with staple nails in that look a bit dodgy but honestly I have been over the majority of them a lot and never had a puncture so don’t worry just go for it. The moor has a great view and also some good descents
Mugdock country park has some technical sections that will get your blood pumping and adrenalin going its good for learning how to control your bike and practice the technical sections without leaving Glasgow to one of the further a field routes. You are best exploring the area in full. There are plenty of little circuits and sections to explore.
There is a little interesting section that follows from the top at the Kyber car park over to Strathblane through some swamps and downhill.
I guess the secret to Mugdock is just to go out and explore the various trails that intersect the park.
Well worth a few hrs of your time
